Rage against the (technology) machine - 22 June

The Northern Data Debates are a series of debates igniting spirited conversations with world-leading experts.

In addition to her Innovation Fellow role, Dr Branley-Bell is an esteemed Chartered Psychologist, Medical Research Foundation Fellow, and incoming Chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Cyberpsychology Section. She specialises in online communication and behaviour and how this links to users’ health and wellbeing.

This debate is titled ‘Rage against the (technology) machine’ and discusses the challenges, and opportunities, of new technology. Including the positives and negatives of technological change, and trade-offs between privacy and science. Discussions include how we can ensure technology is a force for good for people and society. The event is sponsored by the Alan Turing Institute, the National Innovation Centre for Data and Newcastle Data.
